You should have asked this question several months, unless money is no object. You will find it difficult to find airline seats and hotel cheap today, especially to popular destinations. The week between Christmas and New Year is one of the busiest weeks of the year and discounts to sell well in advance.
I used to work in the travel industry, and I had to break the bad news for last-minute travelers each year.
